How to assign a user to a Board?
You need to be an Administrator or a Project Manager to be able to assign users to different boards. Only registered users in the account can be assigned to Projects and Boards.
- Assign a user from the BOARD ASSIGNEE tab.
To assign a user to a board, follow these steps:
Click on "Administration" at the top right side of your screen to open the Administration panel.
Select the Board Assignees tab (Img. 1)
1. Choose a project and a board from the drop-down menu.
2. Checkmark the user you want to assign to the board from the "Non-members of the Board" panel.
Note: User roles are provided per board, which means that users can have different roles on different boards depending on their responsibilities.
When someone creates a board, regardless of their own user role, they are automatically assigned as a Project Manager to this board.
- Assign a user from the USER MANAGEMENT tab.
Select the dotted icon that belongs to each registered Username -> select Assigned boards.
A new panel opens up (img.2), where you can see all projects and boards available in your account. From there, you can see to which boards the user is currently assigned and the respective User role.
You have to mark the Board checkbox to assign a user to that board and select the role.
Note: from that panel you can assign a user as a Project Manager for a Project - > please see the blue ribbon and the Project Manager checkbox. This way the user will automatically become a Project Manager for all Boards under that Project.
2. How to unassign а user from a board?
2.1. Select the Board Assignees tab and go to the "Members of the Board" panel to the right of the screen.
2.2 Checkmark the user you want to unassign.
2.3 Click on Unassign users ->and the user will be added to the "Non-Members of the board" panel.
3. How to change the user role of a board assignee?
3.1 Go to the Board Assignees tab of the Administration panel.
3.2 Choose the project and the board from the drop-down menu and go to the "Members of the Board" panel to the right.
3.3 Click on the edit icon (the pencil) that belongs to every user.
3.4 Choose the new user role from the drop-down menu and click on the green check mark to save the changes.
