You need to have administrator privileges or to be a Project Manager of a project to be able to add/edit templates.
If you want to quickly create complex task structures with predefined attributes or subtasks, you can use templates.
Create Kanban Card Template
Templates are created and added on a project basis. If you want to add a template, go to the main dashboard and click on the Project Settings icon (dotted menu) -> select Manage Templates.
In the Templates tab of the Project and Board Settings panel you can add new templates and assign them to any project you want.
Click on the Add New Template button to create a new template.
Type the name and the description (optional) of your template, so that your team members know when to use it. (for example: if this template is going to be applied when working on bugs -> name it: Bugs). Click on the check mark sign to add the template.
As a next step, a standard Kanban card will open up in order to define the attributes associated with this template: use it to define each and every card field - e.g. set up the priority of the card to be: high, the color: orange, the type: bug (this will add a visual identification for the task)etc.
Click on Save details and the template will be ready to use.
Apply a Template to Your Card
You can apply a template to a card from within the card itself. When you create a card, go to Load Template in the card details and choose a template from the dropdown. Every time, when you create a card and select the template "Bug" -> the newly created card will posses the attributes you have defined, so no need to manually add them.
You will be able to either apply all predefined attributes or you can remove the check mark from Select all and choose the values you do not want to preserve. Click on Apply to load the template on the new created card.
Edit existing Template
If you want to edit a template, click on the settings icon to open the menu.
Click on Edit, if you want to edit the template’s name or description. Choose Settings to open the template details and to edit the predefined attributes. If you want to copy or move a template to a different project, choose one of these options and select a project from the list that appears. You can also delete a template -> use the delete icon.
Set default template for a board
You can even set up a default template for a particular board, if this board is designed to contain only one certain kind of tasks.
Open the grid menu at the top right corner of your board view and go to ->Personal Board Settings in the middle of the panel.
In the Board Settings tab, choose a default template field to select the template from the dropdown menu and click on Save board settings.
