Introduction to the "Cycle time per column" Report
The "Cycle time per column" report displays historical data on all the columns a card has been through and how long it has stayed there.
This report can pull results for archived cards, but it doesn't consider cards that have been discarded.
How to Configure Your Report?
The Date Range field in the left-hand menu is a mandatory field. When configuring the time period you want to run the report for, you can change the default “is” operator for the reporting period by clicking on the small down-facing arrow, and choosing one of the other available operators, e.g. before, after, is between.
The “Refine report criteria” menu allows you to narrow down your criteria by applying one or more filters and get results for a specific board, column, user, etc. When ready, click on the magnifying glass to get the results in a pivot view - more on this view can be found in the dedicated article.
Pivot View is the default view for this report, but you can switch to Table view by clicking on the Table View icon next to the Configure Results in the top right corner of the window.
To see the total time a card has spent in a given column, regardless of your selected date range, you need to click on the “Total cycle time” pill in the “Configure results” menu. That way, if you have a card that has spent 5 days in the In Progress column, but your date range for the report is set to Yesterday, the results will show that Cycle time is 1 day and Total cycle time is 5 days.
Important: If you want to modify the report’s structure and how information is displayed, you can do so from the “Configure Results” button in the window's top right corner.
Note: If a card has been in a single column more than once, there will be a single entry with the cycle time of it combined.
